Procurement Manager, up to £60,000 in Hertfordshire

If so, we’d love to hear from you as our client is looking to a recruit a Procurement Manager to join their business based in Hertfordshire. Our retained client is an award-winning fine food importer and distributor that supplies a wide range of major UK food manufacturers, wholesalers, caterers, restaurants and retailers with the finest ingredients from around the world.
Established for over 100 years their product portfolio has over 500 lines with an in-house laboratory and development kitchen all accredited to the highest standards. They are currently seeking an experienced proactive and self-sufficient Procurement Manager to take full responsibility for procurement and sourcing activity across Europe.
Focused on developing long term strategic supplier partnerships you will ensure the purchasing function is adding value, mitigating supply chain risk and delivering cost savings.
Well qualified and with a proven track record in purchasing management within the food industry you will have gravitas and credibility within the marketplace and the ability to offer direct support to the rest of the management team.
Key Requirements for the Procurement Manager:
Ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent in experience.
A proven track record of Procurement within Food Import is essential.
Strong supplier management techniques and skills with the ability to establish, maintain and grow excellent working relationships.
Outstanding commercial and negotiation skills.
Proven experience of managing a team.
Self-motivated but with the ability to work as part of the wider team.
Good working knowledge of the UK Inbound freight sector.
The ability to travel throughout Europe 5 days a month.
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 plus benefits
